Looking back at Vivatech 2023
Viva Technology is the biggest European Fair dedicated to innovation and technology. Based in Paris, it has just finished its last edition which took place from the 14th to the 17th of June.
In only 7 years of time, the organization team has succeeded in building one of the strongest tech events in Europe. Figures speak for themselves : 2,000 start-ups from 174 countries (South Korea was the guest of honor at this year’s event), 150,000 visitors over 4 days. What is more, the dynamic is slightly moving to AI as 25% of the participating start-ups where directly linked to this sector compared to 8% last year.
For the first time of its existence, VivaTech combined in 2023 its event with the Global Sports Week -a fair dedicated to Sports. This initiative took place in view of France hosting the Rugby World Cup in September 2023 and the Olympics Games in the summer of 2024.
Driven by the desire to help Dutch start-ups benefit from this opportunity, RVO has organized one of its main Trade Mission in Paris gathering 21 Dutch start-ups from different activity sectors such as FoodTech, Cybersecurity or SporTech, all well established in the Netherlands, having reached a similar maturity stage and willing to tackle foreign countries, including France.
During this week, they had the opportunity to discover the French start-up ecosystem thanks to a visit of Station F -the world’s largest start-up campus in the 13th district-, networking events hosted by the Paris Region with a tour on the Seine and a matchmaking event with French Investors in the Residency of the Ambassador.
The main goal of this mission was to help Dutch start-ups connect with the French market to better understand the culture and needs of potential French customers, and sign their first contracts with French partners.
The following Dutch start-ups took part in this second edition of the RVO mission : Alphabeats, Clonable, Colecti, COTIT, Deeploy, Enlabeler, Focus, Nettle, Scaling Founders, PWXR, Sensip, Sevvy, Slinger, Sous, Space4Good, Supersola, Syntho, the Close App, Virtuwalk and Zynyo.
